Deck the Halls

During practice for our school-wide Winter Sing:

Student: "Deck the halls with balls of holly, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH!"

Me: "Oh, it's actually, 'fa la la la la', not 'blah blah blah blah blah.'"

I did not try to get into saying "boughs" instead of "balls."  You pick your battles.

Fun Fact

Student One: "Maestra Robin, do you want to know a fun fact?"
Me: "Sure!"
Student One: "If you wanted to go to space it would take you a hundred MILLION years to get there!"
Student Two: To student one, in all seriousness "Have you been there?"
Student One: "No, but someone told me that."

Telling

Student: To another child in behind him in line "I'm TRIPLE telling on you!!"

Holidays

Student: "Oh, Maestra Robin, I forgot to tell you that I don't celebrate St. Patrick's day so that's why I'm not going to sing the Rudolph song."

The Library

Our librarian's name is Mrs. Chapman.  I told my students we were going to visit her before the end of the day, and one little boy said,

"We are going to go to Mrs. Chapman's store and then go home?"

That is not a typo.  He said, "tropiCAN."
